UCLA Music Program

Since its inception in 1998, the BGCH/UCLA music program has been dedicated to enriching students' lives by offering  weekly private lessons for guitar, piano, or flute. Additionally, students benefit from daily practice opportunities, recitals, and engaging choir sessions/performances. Within this program, students collectively enhance their musical comprehension, mastering both individual and group vocalization, instrumental proficiency, instrument maintenance, and the foundational principles of notation and theory. Moreover, students are adeptly trained in the art of transcription, honing the ability to internalize music through aural perception and skillfully reproduce it on their chosen instrument.

Noteworthy recitals punctuate the winter season and conclude the school year, with additional showcases integrated into board meetings, amplifying students' opportunities to demonstrate their artistic growth.

UCLA generously contributes experienced instructors, while BGCH takes on the responsibility of program oversight and furnishes all necessary instruments and administrative provisions. This encompasses the meticulous coordination of approximately 30 weekly lessons, harmonizing the schedules of both instructors and students.
